چکیده
In the title compound, C(7)H(8)N(2)O(2), the mean planes of the benzene ring and the planar hydrazide group are inclined at 25.75 (6)° with respect to each other. The structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

The title compound, C(16)H(17)N(3)O(2), was synthesized by the reaction of 4-dimethyl-amino-benzaldehyde with 3-hydroxy-benzoic acid hydrazide in methanol. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane.

The five-membered ring and the phenyl rings form dihedral angles of 36.73 (10) and 12.22 (10)°, respectively, with the central C(=O)N2C unit. The crystal packing is dominated by strong N-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Together with weaker C-H⋯O inter-actions, these establish a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.
